Please read these terms carefully before using the SportsBuddy platform. They govern your access to and use of the app and website.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the SportsBuddy mobile application or visiting sportsbuddy.live (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Who Can Use SportsBuddy
The Platform is available to individuals aged 13 and above. By using SportsBuddy, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent before registering.
3. User Accounts & Roles
SportsBuddy supports five account roles: Player, Team Owner, Tournament Organizer, Scorer, and Viewer. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your MPIN. You must not share your account with anyone. Each account is tied to a single device at a time for security purposes.
4. Tournament Organizers
Tournament Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of the tournament information they publish, including schedules, rules, and participant lists. SportsBuddy provides the technology to create and manage tournaments; we are not a party to any agreement between organizers, teams, or players. Organizers must ensure tournaments comply with applicable local laws and regulations.
5. Scoring & Match Data
Scorers are responsible for the accuracy of the data they enter during a match. Once a match is finalized, scores are considered official within the Platform. SportsBuddy is not liable for disputes arising from incorrect scoring. Match data is retained per our data retention policy and may be viewable by viewers and players.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: (a) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its backend systems; (c) upload or transmit viruses or malicious code; (d) impersonate another user or entity; (e) manipulate match scores outside of authorized scorer access; (f) use the Platform to harass, abuse, or harm other users.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including the SportsBuddy name, logo, interface design, and software — is owned by SportsBuddy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Match data and statistics you contribute remain your responsibility, though you grant SportsBuddy a license to display and use that data within the Platform.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at sportsbuddy.live/privacy. By using the Platform you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in that policy.
9. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. SportsBuddy does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Live score data is delivered on a best-effort basis and may be subject to delays.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SportsBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or reputational harm.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
